More about me
Everyone has a niche nowadays. But I cut my teeth as a small-town daily reporter where I was thrown out to the wolves (literally, this was the Yukon) covering stories both big (murder trials, elections) and small (-50C again!) But my experience has taught me this: that curiosity and accurate reporting know no bounds.
Five career facts:
Five career facts:
- I've been writing professionally since I published my first
magazine story in J-school and bought a mountain bike with the cheque.
- I worked at The Globe and Mail as the Travel Editor, where I earned the section successive podium finishes at the Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism awards. I've since launched two regular travel features: Travel Concierge and The Insider.
- I earned a National Magazine Award nomination for a Chatelaine story.
- I graduated from Carleton University's School of Journalism.
- I got my start in the business with a paper route at the ambitious age of 7.
"Smart, well-designed and brimming with ideas" is how Lowell Thomas judges described my work.
